My journey with chronic pain first began when I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a notorious, incurable condition often referred to as "the most painful disorder known to humans." I was only 8 years old at the time, but my doctor told my mom that I might be dependent on opioids for the rest of my life.
This reality terrified us, so we turned to natural solutions like heat therapy to cope. Unfortunately, I was later diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis in my early adult years, two more chronic conditions. You could say pain and I have an unhealthy relationship!
After seemingly infinite doctor visits, diagnoses, and surgeries, I'm now in recovery and able to work and enjoy my life, but I do understand that pain will always be present and could become severe again at any time. That's why I'm dedicated to relieving your pain.
Through our Chronic Champ program, Team Spicey aims to make you feel seen and heard. As I always say, sometimes all we chronic pain warriors have is humor and community.
